Aaaaah the first holiday of spring is upon us...St. Patrick's Day! If you live in Dahlonega you might be planning on celebrating at local favorite watering hole Shenanigans! Or maybe you're staying in and partying at home with your family. Wherever you hoist your green beer, just be sure to wear green! We will be...because no one likes to get pinched! Speaking of pinching, you're going to want to pinch yourself when you taste Ireland's Barry's Tea for the first time.

Fall in LOVE with Charlie Bears!

Straight off the boat from England; a new family of Charlie Bears. These collectable bears (and other animals) are designed by Charlie at The Bearhouse in Cornwall...

Each bear is lovingly made by hand in extremely limited quantities...

While bears may look similar, no two are alike. They each have extremely different personalities; maybe because they receive personalized haircuts as a finishing touch.

There's a reason why Charlie Bears are known as 'bears with personalities!'

Up for adoption this Valentine's Day...

We're Less Than A Month Away From the Dahlonega Farmer's Market

We've got egg-cellent news! The Dahlonega Farmer's Market is just over a month away from opening day. Fresh fruits and veggies, flowers, eggs and bread; we can't wait! Cooking is so much more fun when you're using locally sourced farm-fresh ingredients, don't you think?

The market's first day is Saturday, May 4th and will continue through summer into the fall. Not sure of the closing date yet, but it's usually in October.

Tuesdays from 2-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. just got a little happier, agreed? See you there!

Christmas in Homestead. We mean...Dahlonega

Well, HO-HO-HOllywood came calling in 2016 when the Hallmark movie Christmas in Homestead was filmed in Dahlonega. It truly was a sight to see! Filming took place in September and early October, and fake snow and decorations covered the square. Seemed strange that the leaves were still on their trees...and that some were changing. Didn't quite match the 'snow' on the ground! But watch the movie below...it's hard to tell it wasn't winter!

PS - Our apologies for the subtitles! This is the best video we could find online.

Boutique Lodging in Dahlonega? FINALLY!

Preview Image:

Gorgeous! Boutique lodging has finally arrived in Dahlonega. The Limelight Inn is more of an Airbnb / VRBO hotel, versus the traditional set-up with a check-in desk. This modern Inn is located 5 miles from the town square, and Amicalola Falls is just 11 miles away. There are 11 private rooms on site with 3 king suites and 8 double queen rooms. Each have their own private deck overlooking the forest.

And bonus! A delicious continental breakfast's included; it's served in their brand new hospitality building - with fireside lounging.

Cheers! Capers Restaurant in Dahlonega is the BOMB.

If we had a dollar for every time we were asked where to eat on the square, in the words of Maren Moriss...we'd be rich. Our most consistent recommendation? Capers Greek Restaurant. While they do have the traditional favorites; Spanakopita, Moussaka, Gyros - they're not afraid to branch out and seasonally add more regional choices to their menu. This rotating choice of dishes adds to the fun ambience that keeps us coming back for more! Here's a few of our recent favorite dishes:

Eggplant Napolean

Athena Salad

Coconut Curry Mussels
